EUROPE – Europe is baking under extreme heat, with several countries breaking june temperature records and scientists warning it’s part of a dangerous trend.

That’s according to the European centre for medium-range weather forecasts and NASA which released new timelapse graphics showing widespread temperature spikes.

Italy has banned outdoor work during peak heat, France has shut schools, and Spain just recorded its hottest June ever.

The EU’s Copernicus Climate Change service says Europe is warming at twice the global average.

Meanwhile Swiss RE reports extreme heat now kills more people globally than floods, earthquakes, and hurricanes combined.
