NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Potholes sprinkled across busy streets not only cost the motorists hundreds of dollars to repair their vehicles, but they often cause a safety hazard as drivers swerve to avoid them.

Potholes – a daily and often costly annoyance for Bahamian motorists. They are patched and then eventually, re-open over time. But, did you know that rain is not the only cause of potholes. Sales Manager at Battery and Tyre specialists, Earl Whylly explains the weight of heavy trucks on the road can also be a contributing factor.

He says he believes certain vehicles should be restricted from certain areas. Whylly says he’s witnessed bent, and even shattered tire rims.

How many customers do you think they service a day? He says about 50 per day.

Whylly says he believes our roads should be designed and built differently.
