Top Cops Conduct Walkabout in Grand Bahama

GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Police in the Northern Bahamas conducting an island-wide walkabout on Thursday, all part of the Commissioner of Police’s 2023 Policing Plan.

Officers were out and about conducting road checks and provided road users with safety tips from the western end of the island to the eastern end.

Head of various police divisions provided the media with their policing strategies for the year as well as areas of concern. 

Officer in Charge of the Central Division, Superintendent Advardo Dames speaking on “Operation Downtown Turnaround” which was launched in January in the downtown shopping district. He said the operation has shown positive results.

Officer in Charge of the Criminal Investigation Department, Detective Superintendent Darrell Weir said most of serious crimes are a result of young people not being able to resolve conflicts.
