NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Tourism arrivals numbers up to May 2023 are in and according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and Aviation Chester Cooper the figures exceed that of 2019. 

While speaking to stakeholders from the aviation industry, Cooper revealing the success in tourism could not be possible without them.  

Cooper said May is usually seen as a slow month, but now should be dubbed the million milestone month.  

Cooper making it clear the figures would not be possible without the aviation sector. He made the comments at the Bahamas Aviation Stakeholder’s Symposium this week. 

The first national agency strategic plan was unveiled at the event with Cooper saying the plan will see the resurgence of the local industry.

Attendees heard the importance of strategic partnership which Cooper says is the only way to the success of the industry. 

The strategic plan is expected to be the blueprint for the industry and promises to plot the direction of the industry. 

He says the plan will be accompanied by a well-designed public engagement campaign and widespread engagement with stakeholders 

Cooper however making this promise to stakeholders from the government.
