NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Tourism numbers are up. Acting Prime Minister and Tourism Minister Chester Cooper telling Parliamentarians the numbers suggest arrivals will exceed previous years.

As the tourism industry continues to rebound post-COVID-19, Cooper says arrivals are expected to exceed eight million by the end of the year.

While contributing to the debate on the 2023/2024 Budget, Cooper provided an update on the country’s tourism numbers. 

At the end of April 2023, the acting prime minister says overall air and sea arrivals came in nearly 79% higher than 2022 numbers.

As it stands, for the first four months of the year, arrivals have already surpassed, 2019 which has been touted as a banner year for tourism in The Bahamas.

Speaking specifically to air stopover arrivals, heads in beds are also up.
