NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A judge has set a March 2026 trial date for a former top cop, a defense lawyer and a policeman.

Prosecutors allege that former Chief Superintendent Michael Johnson and Bjorn Ferguson conspired to commit bribery in several conversations with Ferguson’s client Michael Fox Jr in November 2023 while he was wanted by police.

Johnson and Ferguson are also accused of helping Fox to avoid prosecution for the offense of conspiracy to commit stealing.

Fox, who was later murdered, was suspected of being the mastermind behind the theft of $1.475 million from an armored car that was left unattended.

Johnson is also accused of stealing $90,000 from Akeil Holmes, a former armored car employee, who was charged with the heist. He’s also accused of receiving the money from Rolle, who’s accused of abetting the theft.

Justice Dale Fitzpatrick said he hoped to deal with the case quickly as the defendants are all professionals whose reputations are on the line.
