YASHIO, JAPAN – A five-meter-deep sinkhole swallowed a truck in Japan’s Saitama prefecture on Tuesday, leaving a 74-year-old man trapped and unresponsive according to National Broadcaster NHK.

Rescuers pulled out the trailer, but a second sinkhole opened nearby early Wednesday.

Authorities are warning of potential gas leaks and more collapses, urging residents to evacuate within 200 meters.
