UNITED STATES – US President Donald Trump is voicing displeasure with both Israel and Iran, saying Tel Aviv and Tehran violated a recently brokered ceasefire agreement.

The ceasefire between Israel and Iran came into effect on Tuesday morning, bringing an end to what has been dubbed “The 12-Day War.”

The truce was initially announced by President Trump, who said it would involve a phased halt to military operations. However, tensions flared again when Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered renewed strikes on Tehran early Tuesday, accusing Iran of breaching the agreement.

Iran swiftly denied the accusations and vowed a firm response to any further Israeli aggression.

Speaking to reporters at the White House before departing for the NATO Summit in the Netherlands, President Trump said he would need to get Israel to “calm down.”
