UNITED STATES – Sony is raising the price of Playstation 5 consoles in the us by $50 starting Thursday, citing rising costs and a slower gaming market.

All three PS5 models are affected, with the base version now set at $499.99 and the top-of-the-line pro model at $749.99.

Sony says the increase is a response to a “challenging economic environment” and US tariffs on Japanese imports.

The company confirmed prices for PS5 accessories and other countries remain unchanged.

This follows similar hikes by rivals like Nintendo and Microsoft, as Tariffs and inflation squeeze global businesses.

Industry analysts warn U.S. consumers may see more modest price increases on imported goods in the months ahead.
