INDONESIA – Rescue teams in Indonesia have recovered the bodies of two people from a plane that crashed in the Mount Bulusaraung area of South Sulawesi.

Indonesia’s search and rescue agency, Basarnas, working with the military, says the victims were found inside the aircraft’s fuselage and tail section.

Army officials say evacuations were carried out by land using mountaineering techniques, after strong winds and thick fog made air access impossible.

The ATR 42-500 aircraft, operated by Indonesia Air Transport, lost contact Saturday while flying from Yogyakarta to Makassar.

The plane was carrying 11 people, including eight crew members and three passengers, as search efforts continue in difficult terrain.
