NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two men are in custody after police concluded investigations into separate murders.

Twenty-eight-year-old Desmond Gilbert is accused of the October 21 murder of Valenbino McKenzie.

According to police, McKezie was in front of his home on First Street when two gunmen emerged from a car and shot him multiple times.

Prosecutors say Gilbert is one of the gunmen.

And, twenty-six-year-old Ringo Ellis is charged with the May 21 murder of Derren Bastian at Jackson Street in Nassau Village.

According to police, Bastian was at a takeaway when the occupants of a gray car opened fire on him.

Both Gilbert and Ellis didn’t have to plead to the charges when they appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckely.

They were denied bail and are scheduled to return to court on February 8.
