Two Former Public School Teachers Discharged After Agreeing to Re-pay Money
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Tossie Pugh, 48, and Larry Miller, 72, received discharges after Assistant Chief Magistrate Shaka Serville saw proof of a repayment plan with the Ministry of Finance.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two former public school teachers who were overpaid for years due to an administrative error have been discharged after agreeing to repay the money.
Tossie Pugh, 48, and Larry Miller, 72, received discharges after Assistant Chief Magistrate Shaka Serville saw proof of a repayment plan with the Ministry of Finance.
Pugh was on study leave when she received $153, 173.05 in overpayments between August 2021 and January 2025.
Miller received $106, 516.17 between November 2017 and October 2021 while retired.
Their salaries were supposed to be coded; however, Pugh and Miller remained on the payroll for years before the error was detected.
