Two Men Charged with Murder in University Drive Shooting

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two men are facing murder and other charges after shooting at University Drive on October 25 left a man dead.

The suspects, 22-year-old Mandingo Cartwright and 19-year-old Christiano Thompson, are accused of the murder of Mekhi Taylor and the attempted murders of Bruce Russell and Tyrone Jones.

They are also accused of endangering the lives of Russell and Jones with a firearm.

Cartwright and Thompson didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges when they stood before Assistant Chief Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux.

Bail was denied and they return to court on January 22 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
