CARIBBEAN – Regional security is taking center stage in the Caribbean, with a powerful U.S. Congressional delegation in Trinidad and Tobago for high-level talks.

Trinidad and Tobago’s foreign affairs minister, Sean Sobers, hosted the meeting at the diplomatic centre, joining U.S. Senators Gary peters, chris coons, and Tammy Baldwin.

The discussions focused on securing maritime borders, strengthening intelligence sharing, and tackling transnational crime–including narco-terrorist networks.

The talks come as CARICOM nations face growing border and defense pressures, with the U.S. and recently launching a joint task force for the western hemisphere.
