U.S. Deports First Group of Haitians Under T.P.S. Program

HAITI – The U.S. deported more than 160 people to Haiti on Thursday, marking the first time since the Trump administration won a legal battle to end temporary protected status for about 350,000 Haitians.

The plane landed in Cap-Haitien, as the main airport in Port-Au-Prince remains too dangerous.

Currently, there’s a ban on U.S. commercial flights to Haiti’s capital due to ongoing gang violence.

Deportees arrived clothed in white, many covering their faces for safety as they faced journalists.

This group included T.P.S holders and Haitians who had served prison sentences, as reported by Haiti’s National Office of Migration.
