UNITED STATES – U.S. President Donald Trump says America’s role in Venezuela could last for years, following the U.S. raid that captured President Nicolás Maduro.

In an interview with the New York Times this week, Trump said “only time will tell” how long his administration will oversee the country, offering no timeline for elections.

The White House says the U.S. will control Venezuela’s oil sales indefinitely, while opposition leader María Corina Machado calls Maduro’s ouster an irreversible step toward freedom.
