GEORGIA – Four people were killed in a shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia on Wednesday, the first school shooting of the new academic year.

A 14-year-old suspect was taken into custody, according to law enforcement.

Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris called the incident a “senseless tragedy” during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, urging an end to the epidemic of gun violence.

College student Gretchen Gierlach stood near the school with a sign reading, “Our schools shouldn’t be cemeteries,” saying, “America has failed our children and educators.”
