NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris expected to arrive in New Providence Thursday morning, but only for a few hours.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Fred Mitchell noting that heads of government from CARICOM countries have requested the multi-lateral meetings with the United States to discuss a range of issues including climate change, national security and food security.

He says the common belief is that the U.S. is only interested in security talks.

There will also be bi-lateral meetings between Prime Minister Philip Davis and the Vice President to discuss matters relevant to The Bahamas.
