NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Parliamentarians getting into a shouting match over the recent unemployment numbers.

While wrapping up the 2023/2024 Budget Debate, Prime Minister Philip Davis insisted the unemployment rate is now lower than under the previous administration prior to the pandemic.

East Grand Bahama Member of Parliament Kwasi Thompson didn’t see it that way.

The recent Labour Force Survey revealed that unemployment dropped to 8.8% this year when compared to the 9.8% back in 2019.

However, the Prime Minister called Thompson’s reasoning disingenuous.
