THE BAHAMAS – University of The Bahamas advises that both the Oakes Field Campus in New Providence and UB North in Grand Bahama will be closed on Monday, 29th September, and Tuesday, 30th September 2025 due to adverse weather conditions and flooding
associated with Tropical Storm Imelda.

During this period, the University will activate its emergency remote teaching and
operations protocol. Classes will be conducted virtually, as far as electricity and internet
connectivity allow. Faculty are encouraged to communicate directly with their students
to make the necessary arrangements. Otherwise, managers and supervisors will connect
directly with their respective teams.

UB’s Emergency Response Team continues to closely monitor the path of Tropical Storm
Imelda. Guided by the advice of officials, the University will resume normal operations
only after the all-clear has been issued for the Northwest Bahamas, including New
Providence and Grand Bahama, and campus safety assessments have all been
completed.

We urge all members of the UB community to continue monitoring the University’s
official communication channels for updates via the UB email, UB website, and official
social media pages.
