NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Some Bahamians are saying good bye to high gas prices for good. Tonight, our Jameelha Missick takes a look at how electric cars are becoming more popular.

They’re sleek. They’re efficient. They’re equipped with the latest technology. And, they’re powered by electricity.

Our News visited Easy Car Sales, an EV dealership to find out more about the electrically powered cars. Owner, Pia Farmer says a common misconception is that electric vehicles are expensive. But, Farmer says that’s not the case and explains why.

Sales Executive Dion Longley says there is growing interest in electric vehicles, as they require very little maintenance, and do not spread harmful gases into the atmosphere.

We left our studio with the vehicle 63 percent charged, and after driving for about 12 miles, the battery life moved to 55 percent.
