Viana Gardiner Promoted to Chief Legal Officer for Atlantis

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Atlantis Paradise Island announced the promotion of Viana Gardiner to Chief Legal Officer.

In her new role, Gardiner will oversee all legal, regulatory, corporate and compliance functions for the world-renowned resort destination, ensuring continued excellence in governance and operational integrity across Atlantis’ expansive portfolio.

Gardiner joined Atlantis Paradise Island in 2022 as Vice President of Public Affairs before advancing to Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs in 2023, where she led the company’s legal strategy and risk management initiatives. Her leadership has been instrumental in guiding the resort through significant business transactions, partnerships, and corporate governance advancements.

As Chief Legal Officer, Gardiner will continue to advise the executive leadership team, while driving Atlantis’ mission to deliver world-class experiences rooted in sustainability, innovation, and Bahamian culture.“Viana’s deep legal expertise, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to excellence make her an invaluable member of our leadership team,” said Audrey Oswell, President and Managing Director of Atlantis Paradise Island. “Her promotion is a testament to her outstanding contributions and the respect she has earned across the organization.”

Gardiner brings over fifteen years of legal experience, including expertise in commercial transactions, corporate law, regulatory affairs, and hospitality operations. Throughout her career, Gardiner has been a strong advocate for local talent development and sustainable tourism.

Gardiner earned a law degree from The University of the West Indies, a master’s in international relations from Carleton University and completed undergraduate studies at the University of Cambridge in the U.K. 

Gardiner has built a distinguished track record across both the public and private sectors. Her previous leadership roles include Chief Operating Officer of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit in the Bahamas, acting Head of The Bahamas Investment Authority, which guides all FDI inflows into the country, Vice President of Legal & Business Affairs, and Vice President of Government Affairs & Assistant General Counsel.
