U.S.A. – ESPN’s Top 5 high school player VJ Edgecombe is headed to Waco, Texas to play for Baylor University.

The 6’5″ shooting guard from Bimini is currently playing out his senior year at Long Island Lutheran in New York.

The 2023 Gatorade player of the year for the state of New York is averaging 17 points and 5 rebounds per game. He describes his relationship with Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew.

Track and Field

Bahamian hurdler Devynne Charlton ran to a blazing win in the 60-meter hurdles with a world-leading time of 7.88 seconds.

She was running at the Rod McCravy TF Memorial in Kentucky.

Charlton beat out her training partner Masai Russell who came second in 7.89 seconds.

This is the first time Charlton has ever had a world-leading time. Expect more from her as we get closer to the Paris Olympics.

Women’s Basketball

Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin and the University of Mississippi Rebels battled for in-state supremacy on Sunday night, falling to Mississippi State 69-57.

Marquesha Davis led the rebels in the Egg-Bowl rematch with 19 points and 3 rebounds and Snudda Collins had 12. No other Ole Miss player got into double digits.

On the other end Jessika Carter had 23 to help the Bulldogs win.
