WORLDWIDE – A growing number of people around the world say they simply can’t afford to have the families they want.

That’s the warning from a new United Nations report showing nearly 1 in 5 surveyed adults don’t expect to have their desired number of children, mainly due to cost, lack of time, or not finding the right partner.

The UN says this quiet crisis is fueling a global fertility decline.

One woman surveyed says she and her husband have decided to stick with one child as they are overwhelmed by school fees, long workdays and guilt over lost time.
