NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The World Famous Valley Boys Junkanoo Group is gearing up for the New Year’s Day parade, saying they’re not dismayed after falling short on Boxing Day.

Fans can look forward to a bounce back performance, as frontline leader, John Williams, says those watching will travel back in time to the wild wild west.

“So we’re gonna have a display of cowboy history, Indian history, we’re gonna see salon. They’re gonna see Clint Eastwood, you’re gonna see a lot of powwow dancers, you’re gonna see tribal dancers, you’re gonna see Texas Hold’em Poker, you’re gonna hear all of your favorite cowboy songs and western songs, we plan to put on a show.”

The group finished fourth on Boxing Day with their Myths and Legends of Martial Arts earning them 528 points, – a result they’re not satisfied with.

“We did a stellar performance, unfortunately it didn’t showcase…morale is still high, aim is still the same, we’re going to win.”

“Our girls are angry…they did not deserve fifth place, and they’re gonna come out to show what they deserved on Boxing Day.

However, the story of Boxing Day was the long, frustrating gaps.

It wasn’t until the crack of dawn when the group came out, and while some fans stayed to see them, many had already left.

“We’ve been trying for years to remedy that situation, for the first time in history our group is come out eighth. It was a lot to deal with you know, the fans were tired.”

“I’m hoping that the parade moves smooth and moves faster, and we even able to do a second lap, as it customary on Bay Street”
