Imelda bringing heavy rainfall and severe flooding in many areas across New Providence, leaving some homeowners stranded inside their homes.

As we drove through the West Grove we found this man stuck in the flood waters and I felt led to assist.

Ray Thurston was heading to check on his sister, whose home flooded when he found himself in this unfortunate predicament, stuck in knee-high water.

Thurston  says he walked out to try and pull his stalled bus out of the water.

Bethell-Stuart telling says she believes the flooding isn’t just due to Imelda.

She says her sister had to evacuate her home.

Imelda passed over New Providence as a tropical storm on Sunday night into the early morning on Monday.

Making matters worse is that residents had sewage issues due to the flooding.

Mike Isaacs says he’s been living in his home for about five years and has never experienced this kind of flooding.
