NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A woman who claimed she stabbed her former lover in self defense has been convicted of causing grievous harm.

Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans found the charge proven against Rachel Johnson.

The 23-year-old has to pay Shadrach Gibson $3,000 in compensation to avoid spending a year in prison.

Johnson never denied stabbing her former sexual partner on June 19, 2023.

She said that Gibson showed up at her home in Cambridge Lane uninvited and asked her to come to his home.

When she declined, he allegedly tried to force his way inside.

Johnson alleged that Gibson hit her in the face and started to “yuck off” her clothes, prompting her to grab a knife and stab him multiple times.
