NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Today we look at highlights of the Ministry of Public Works’ search for a new cohort of exceptional individuals to oversee and maintain the nation’s roads.

It’s a critical undertaking that officials say requires the best and brightest minds.

The Ministry of Public Works is on the hunt for a new, exceptional team to take over from the current crew, who are approaching retirement age.

Keeping roads in New Providence in tip top shape is no easy feat and securing a brilliant new team is how the ministry plans to ensure that when the time comes.

They are ready to take the mantle.

Orlando Strachan is the foreman operator of the line striping crew and is leading the charge.

Garvin Kemp is one of those key workers who has dedicated his life to roadworks for the past 37 years and now he has this advice for the new recruits.

In a bid to upskill and advance his career, Jamaal Wright, a seasoned field worker with 11 years of experience, is currently undergoing training to become an operator and although he currently works as a painter, Jamaal is determined to broaden his skill set.
