NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Da road dem dig up, dig up: A popular throwback Bahamian song by Geno D focused on the 2011 Roadwork Project. It depicted the frustration many drivers faced at the time.

Fast forward 12 years later and a new major project is set to get underway.

The Ministry of Works and Family Island Affairs says it will cost 1$00 million.

Senior Engineer Francis Clarke, who is responsible for maintenance and construction in the ministry says this time will be different.

Clarke however not ruling out major reconstruction.

The 2011 road works caused inconvenience for many residents with extended periods of diverted traffic. Clarke says he doesn’t expect that to happen this time.
