NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Members of the Bahamas Public Services Union staging a protest, Friday morning, at the Ministry of Works. The action stemming from concerns including undefined roles and lack of respect.

Kimsley Ferguson, president of the Bahamas Public Services Union, leading a protest with employees of the Ministry of Works grounds and Beautification Department.

He says there seems to be a blatant disrespect for those employees and they have been carrying out duties outside of their department.

Ferguson says it needs to be clearly identified who has the right to give directives to the employees.

Ferguson claims the policy that governs how the relationship between the ministry and authority should work, has been breached.

We reached to the Beaches and Parks Chairman, McKell Bonaby who, for now, declined to comment.

According to Ferguson, the issue has been ongoing for over two weeks, and they are prepared to continuing agitating until they come to a resolution.
