NASSAU, BAHAMAS –  With crime rates rising, especially armed robberies and homicides, The Royal Bahamas Police Force is asking residents to register their security cameras.

Members of the top brass say the aim is to up the ante in the fight against troubling crime trends.

Supporters of this nontraditional crime fighting tactic believe it could be a game-changer, allowing law enforcement to quickly access camera footage that could help them solve crimes faster.

While others believe in the potential benefits, others say they worry about misuse or unauthorized access, questioning if the benefits outweigh the risks.
