GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Meet 34-year-old Thomas Haven. He was unemployed for many years which made it hard to feed his family of four.

He says the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the problem.

But through the Beautiful Grand Bahama program he was able to leave the unemployment line after landing a job as a general worker and he rose through the ranks.

One of the most impactful projects for him was working in the back of town community in Freeport, building homes for homeless people.

Haven describes the moment he first received a paycheck.

He says he’s also seeing former gang members now working together under the program

And as for what’s next, he wants to get into the tour business sector.
