NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas National Statistical Institute’s new report on quarterly GDP performance last year shows trends of growth when compared to the same quarters of 2022. The most notable, a 9.9 percent increase when compared to 2022.

Also, all four of the economic quarters last year recorded higher levels of GDP compared to pre-pandemic quarters in 2019.

Prime Minister Philip Davis describes it as a testament to the work his administration has carried out.

The opposition says the numbers are misleading, claiming the everyday Bahamian does not feel the trickle-down effect of these statistics.

Prime Minister Philip Davis hits back at the notion.
