148 Migrants Intercepted Off Turks & Caicos Islands Coast

TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS – The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force said it detained 148 irregular migrants on Monday evening after intercepting their vessel off the islands’ coast Monday night.

The group, which includes 109 men, 39 women, and two minors, was towed to south dock port for processing by border force officials before being transferred to the detention centre.

This is the fourth vessel intercepted this year, bringing the total number of detained irregular migrants to 296 since January.
