NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A judge has granted $15,000 bail to a man accused of impregnating a 13-year-old girl. Jakyle Barry, a 20-year-old heavy duty equipment operator, was remanded to prison on August 15 on 11 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse concerning his alleged relationship with the child.

Prosecutors say Barry began a sexual relationship with the girl in August 2021 when she was 12-years-old.

The relationship allegedly continued up to July 2022, and resulted in a teen pregnancy, according to prosecutors.

Justice Deborah Fraser set Barry’s bail at $15,000 with three sureties and ordered him outfitted with an ankle bracelet. He’s also been ordered to have no contact with the witnesses in the case./p>

Barry will remain in prison until his sureties are approved.
