NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police are classifying the death of a teenage girl in Mason’s Addition on Thursday as a sudden death at this time.

Police Press Liaison Officer Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings said it was around 9:45am when the victim was playing basketball when she reportedly collapsed.

“We are going to have an autopsy performed to find out what went wrong to find out why she collapsed on the park,” she said during the briefing.

“We can’t say if she had any previous medical condition or known to have any so once we find out what went wrong we will definitely update the press.”

Chief Superintendent Skippings said the 18-year-old is a resident of the area.
