HAITI – Three hundred Kenyan police officers have arrived in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, as part of the Kenya-led multinational security support mission to assist Haiti’s police in combating armed gangs. The Kenyan Transport Minister praised the mission’s success in reducing gang violence, with Kenya’s total deployment in Haiti surpassing 600 officers. The country has pledged to send 1,000 troops.

Gang violence in Haiti has displaced over 700,000 people and caused more than 5,600 deaths in 2024 alone, according to the UN.
