5 Cruise Ships Docked In Nassau Harbour

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – 19 months after the cruise ship industry came to a standstill, five cruise were docked in Nassau Harbour, today, bringing thousands of visitors. The port hasn’t seen that number of ships since the start of the pandemic.

We met cruise ship passenger Dave Stuttler getting, of all things, his beard braided as he prepared to go back onto the cruise ship.

He was one of the thousands of cruise ship passengers who disembarked in Nassau Harbour as five cruise ships docked.

It’s the most cruise ships docked in the harbour since the start of the pandemic last March. And it’s a sign of something promising, according to Nassau Cruise Port CEO Mike Maura.

The cruise port was bustling with activity as tourists maneuvered to and from the ships, some being transported via golf carts.

Two royal Caribbean ships, one MSC, a Disney ship and a Carnival Cruise ship all docked in the harbour.

With visible construction underway for the expansion of the cruise port and the erection of world class facilities, a goal of summer 2022 is quickly approaching. But Maura says safety first.

Despite the five ships, some taxi drivers said their pockets didn’t feel it.

Still, these visitors say they’re having a good time.
