NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A murder suspect who failed to keep his ankle monitor charged has been fined and sentenced to 18 months of probation.

Twenty-five-year-old Nahshon Rolle was ordered to wear an ankle bracelet pending his trial for the May 5th, 2020 murder of 17-year-old Jason Joseph.

Rolle ignored notifications to charge the battery on his tracking device, and allowed the battery to get to zero percent on August 27th, 28th, 30th, and 31st.

Rolle pleaded guilty to violating his bail conditions when he appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.

He was given the choice of paying a $2,500 fine or serving a three-month prison sentence. A breach of Rolle’s 18-month probation will result in six months in prison.
