NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Central and South Abaco Member of Parliament John Pinder labelling Bahamas Power and Light as disgraceful, as residents there faced hours-long outages last week.

As a result, Pinder is calling for more authority to be given to Family Island general managers and for the power giant to decentralize its operations.

A BPL notice said the company had transmission line issues.

Pinder says Abaconians are losing money, foods is going spoil and appliances are being damaged.

He’s also calling for immediate remediation and help for the island and other Family Islands.
