PHEONIX, ARIZONA – It was a big night for Deandre Ayton against his former team, while VJ Edgecombe and Buddy Hield came up short on the road.

Deandre Ayton had a standout night for the Los Angeles Lakers in their 116-114 road win over the Phoenix Suns, his former team.

Ayton finished with a 20-point, 13-rebound double-double, his 10th of the season.

He shot an efficient 10-11 from the field.

For Edgecombe and the Philadelphia 76ers, it was a 120-117 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

Edgecombe had 26 points, his second-highest point total since his record-breaking debut.

Hield provided a scoring spark off the bench for the Golden State Warriors in their 136-131 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers with 10 points in just 16 minutes.

Prince Strachan Enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Prince Strachan will be on the move again this offseason.

Strachan has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal after his lone season at USC.

He saw limited action with the Trojans, finishing the year with one reception for 25 yards, after an early-season ankle injury and a deep receiver room restricted his opportunities.

Strachan missed multiple games and never fully settled into the offensive rotation.

Prior to USC, he was a solid contributor at Boise State, appearing in 28 games over two seasons and recording 37 catches for 578 yards and three touchdowns.

At 6-foot-5 with speed, proven production at the Group of Five level and multiple years of eligibility remaining, Strachan is expected to attract interest from programs at all levels.

Team Bahamas Earns Silver at CBC 3×3 Caribbean Cup Stop

Stop two on the CBC 3×3 Caribbean Cup tour produced a medal and a fourth-place finish for Team Bahamas.

The Bahamas’ under-23 women’s team turned in a gritty performance but came up just short in the championship game, falling 13-11 to Jamaica on Saturday night at Malcolm Park.

The final was deadlocked at 11-11 with just 3.8 seconds left before a technical foul sent Jamaica to the line for the deciding points and final possession.

Mya Henfield, Michelle Butler, Darreniqe Mackey and Jada Francis earned the silver medal after earlier wins over the Cayman Islands, Haiti, and Trinidad and Tobago.

On the men’s side, The Bahamas’ under-23 team was edged 16-14 by Haiti in the semifinals and finished fourth.

That team included Keithwood Stubbs, Davito McIntosh, Leo Johnson and Stevanko Jacques.

Jamaica swept this stop with gold medals in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
