NASSAU, BAHAMAS – As Labour Day approaches a local union is promising to take industrial action if their issues are not resolved soon. The threat coming from Bahamas Union of Teachers President Belinda Wilson, who says she’s putting her members on alert today.

After months of back and forth, Bahamas Union of Teachers President Belinda Wilson says industrial action is now on the table for the union amidst a slew of concerns they say have not been addressed.

Wilson says the issues center on allowance payments for teachers. When it comes to the issues not being resolved, Wilson had this to say.

Our News attempted to reach education officials on the concerns, however, we were unsuccessful up to air time.

As for what is the next step for the union, they will be coming to an agreement on what form of industrial action they will take if their requests are not addressed.
