PUERTO RICO – Not the Opening Team Bahamas Expected at the PONY U16 Caribbean Zone Qualifiers in Guayaquil, Ecuador Errors early in the first inning set the tone for a 9–0 loss to Puerto Rico at the Pancho Jiménez Sports Complex.
Puerto Rico delivered a one-hitter en route to the win. Amari Knowles took the loss on the bump for Team Bahamas.

Junior Division Draw Set for HS Nationals
The 2025 Junior High School Soccer Championships roll into New Providence this week at the Roscow A. L. Davies Soccer Field.
In the girls’ semifinals on May 27th, BAISS champions Windsor School face off against GSSSA runners-up DW Davis Royals, while Queen’s College takes on the unbeaten GSSSA champions, the HO Nash Lions.
Over in the boys’ bracket, it’s a showdown between BAISS champions Lyford Cay and the SC McPherson Sharks, who finished runners-up in the GSSSA. The second semifinal features St. Andrew’s taking on the reigning GSSSA champions, the Anatol Rodgers Timberwolves.
The winners will advance to the finals on May 28th.
Bahamians Open the 2025 Indy Baseball Season
Bahamians are off to a fast start in the American Association of Professional Baseball.
On Tuesday night, Daunte Stuart delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning, securing a 3–2 victory over the Sioux Falls Canaries. This clutch hit was his second of the game, his third multi-hit game of the season.
In Game One of the series, he had a three-hit performance, including a double to right and two singles up the middle.
He also had a three-hit game against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, including a double and two singles.
D’Shawn Knowles is in his second season with the Sioux City Explorers.
Through eight games, he has four hits, which include a double and a triple, scored two runs, and drove in two RBI with two stolen bases.
Tahnaj Thomas is in his debut season with the Milwaukee Milkmen.
In three relief appearances, he pitched four innings with four strikeouts and a 6.75 ERA.
