GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Mike Strachan is a Bahamian wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts.

He held his first-ever football camp in his native Grand Bahama. At his camp he taught the fundamentals of football to dozens of kids from the area.

Strachan is a Freeport boy through and through and he’s elated to bring the game he plays at the highest level back to his hometown.

Strachan didn’t return to freeport alone, he came along with some friends.

With roots in Guinea and the Ivory Coast, Turay wants to do something similar:

Grand Bahama native Joshua Saunders, a college teammate of Strachan’s is preparing himself to try out for an NFL roster.

Meanwhile, the G-ball Andre Rogers National Baseball Championships started today at the newly constructed Andre Rodgers baseball field.

The event kicked off Thursday morning with a college baseball showcase and the opening ceremony.

Teams from under-8 to under-20 from Grand Bahama, Abaco and right here in New Providence are all competing to be the best in the nation.

The tournament will run until Sunday.
