NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamians Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors and Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns secured wins for their respective teams with big games on Friday night.

Klay Drops 42 On Houston

Klay Thompson showed why he is one of the greatest shooters who ever lived, scoring 42 points on 12 of 19 shooting as his Warriors beat the Houston Rockets 116. All of his makes came from beyond the three-point line, as he took 17 attempts from deep making him the only player in the NBA to hit more than 12 3s in multiple games this season. He also added 7 rebounds and 1 assist. 

The Rockets closed the first half up 66-49 and never looked out, controlling the game for the entire second half as Thompson and the Dubs sank shot after shot throwing a wet blanket on any would-be Rockets comeback attempt. 

Jordan Poole and Donte DiVincenzo, starting for injured all-stars Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins added 15 apiece. 

Ayton Notches Double-Double To Beat Oklahoma City

Nassau’s Deandre Ayton scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help the Phoenix Suns beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 125-114. 

The big man controlled the interior on offense and defense with all 6 of his made baskets coming from the painted area, he also stifled OKC at the rim with 2 blocks. 

The game was a slugfest with teams trading buckets throughout. OKC even took a four-point lead early in the 3rd quarter, going up 78-74. But the Suns’ veterans, Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton scored consecutive buckets to put the Suns ahead for the final time.

Booker led the Suns with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Paul added 16 points and 6 assists. Isaiah Joe, starting for all-star lead guard Shai Gilgous-Alexander led the Thunder with 28 points.
