NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 34-year-old woman is behind bars after prosecutors allege she attempted to murder her brother and his girlfriend by throwing acid on them.

Elsie Charles-McKinney faces charges of attempted murder and dangerous harm in relation to the December 21, 2024 incident.

Prosecutors allege that she tried to kill her brother Marthial Paul and Melissa Murphy and caused dangerous harm to them.

Charles-McKinney didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges when she appeared before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Bail was denied and she’s back in court on May 8 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
