If you questioned whether Jazz Chisholm Jr. would figure into the long term plans for the New York Yankees, both sides took a step toward those plans by restructuring for the future.
Chisholm agreed to a one-year, $5.85 million contract with the Bronx Bombers for the upcoming season and both sides will avoid arbitration.
Chisholm previously lost his arbitration hearing with the Miami Marlins prior to the 2024 season and arbiters sided with the Marlins to award him $2.65 million rather than the $2.9 million he requested.
He was traded to the Yankees in July, and finished the season with several career highs on New York’s run to the world series – 24 home runs, 40 stolen bases and a .761 ops in 147 games.
Chisholm will again be arbitration eligible next season and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2027.
