NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell says he suspects CARICOM leaders will discuss the ongoing issues in Haiti with U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris during her visit to The Bahamas next week.

He says the intent of the meeting is to also address other issues like environmental concerns, energy security and food production.

The meeting set for June 8th will be co-hosted by Harris and CARICOM Chair Prime Minister Philip Davis.

The meeting follows a previous meeting with Caribbean leaders at the Summit of Americas in Los Angeles back in September.

Mitchell says The Bahamas will also use the visit to address concerns specific to The Bahamas like overflight fees and others.
