Coach Yolett McPhee McCuin has blazed a trail through college basketball, raising the Ole Miss Rebels from an also-ran to a powerhouse.

She’s back helping children in her community.

Primary school students in Grand Bahama were in for a treat as one of their very own returned home to give back in a big way.

Sixth grader Marcus Romer was one of over 60 plus attendees at the free basketball clinic put on by Grand Bahama’s very own Coach Yolett McCuin at the Basil Neymour court in Coral Gardens.

And the location for the free clinic was not by coincidence. Coach Yo’s father – Gladstone ‘Moon’ McPhee explains.

And as for why outreach is so important for Coach Yo….

American Football

Another Grand Bahama native, Mike Strachan saw the field in NFL preseason acton over the weekend.

Mike Strachan of the Indianapolis Colts played Saturday’s 23-19 preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Playing the day before his birthday, Strachan had only one catch but it was a spectacular 18-yard grab from quarterback Gardner Minshew over cornerback Christian Benford.

The Colts are back in action against the bears this coming Saturday. Hopefully, Strachan can play a couple more snaps.
