Coach Yo, Rebels Win Final Game of the Season

TUSCALOOSA, AL, USA – Bahamian Head Coach Yolett “Coach Yo” McPhee McCuin, and her team, the University of Mississippi Rebels Women’s Basketball team won their final game of the regular season against the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, 57-55.

The Rebels Edge out Alabama, 57-55

TUSCALOOSA, AL, USA – Bahamian Head Coach Yolett “Coach Yo” McPhee McCuin, and her team, the University of Mississippi Rebels Women’s Basketball team won their final game of the regular season against the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, 57-55.

With the win, Ole Miss finishes the season with a 22-7 record including 11 wins in their conference, a program record. 

The game looked good for the Rebels early. They jumped out to a 9-point lead in the 2nd quarter. Bama would storm back in the 3rd to take a lead, going up as much as 8 points with 3 minutes left in the quarter.

The game would go down to the wire resulting in a 55-55 stalemate with 24 seconds left. Marquesha Davis would put the nail in Bama’s coffin after being fouled by Brittany Davis with 3 seconds left , making both of her free throws to secure the win for the Rebels.

Davis had one of her best games of the season, scoring 26 points and grabbing 5 rebounds to lead the Rebels to victory. Angel Baker and Madison Scott added 10 points apiece. Aaliyah Nye led the Tide in scoring with 12 off the bench. Brittany Davis added 11.  

The Rebels will travel to Greenville, SC on Wednesday to compete in the SEC tournament.
